Measuring the Factors Affecting Annual Turnover of the Firms: A Case Study of Selected Manufacturing Industries in India

The manufacturing sector works as an engine of growth it creates the conducive path for socio-economic development. In said perspective, numerous studied have empirically proved positive contribution in social – economic However, limited studies could examine factors affecting different industries India. Thus, this study assessed determinants annual turnover firms Indian sector. For aforementioned investigation, used financial statistics 154 selected which were operating seven (i.e., automobile and auto component, chemicals petrochemicals, construction, electronics, industrial equipment & machinery, pharmaceuticals, textiles apparels) from nine states Log-linear regression model under stochastic frontier production function technique was considered to impact specific on firms. It highlighted that significantly reflected with labour intensity; firm's age size, R&D expenditure, technology up-gradation; investment machinery; salary workers, skilled un-skilled manpower. findings also indicate India is required adopt strict intellectual property rights (IPRs) policy reduce imitation rate technologies further improvement transfer commercialization.
